Pastor and Mrs. Cleveland Parker
Cleveland J. Parker
Ponder this verse with me.
Matthew 21:42 NKJV Jesus said, ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.’ Note the word ‘rejected’.
The rejection of his brothers put Joseph on a path that led to the throne of Egypt and the saving of his family and his nation. How often has something happened in your life that you later realized was necessary? If you hadn’t experienced this or walked through that, you wouldn’t have been ready for the blessings you enjoy now.
When you begin to see the hand of God in it you understand that what the enemy intended for your destruction, God used for your development. To be ‘more than a conqueror’ means you can stand up and say: ‘Here’s how I see it. It took everything I’ve been through to make me who I am and to teach me what I know. So I choose to be better, not bitter. I trust the faithfulness of God more than ever. I’ve learned that if faith doesn’t move the mountain, it’ll give me strength to endure until tomorrow. And if it is not gone by tomorrow, I’ll still believe that God is able and trust Him until He does.’
Relax, rejoice; your steps are being arranged by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). He hasn’t taken His eye or His hand off you, not even for a single moment. When you get through this trial you’ll realize that ‘the worst thing that could have happened’ was, in reality, ‘the Lord’s doing’, and it will become ‘marvelous in your eyes.
Let’s not give up under any circumstance, “Keep on believing”.
Meet May Elizabeth Lawrence, affectionately called ‘Betty’ or ‘Betty-Mae’. She is an ordained Minister and Assistant Pastor at Teamwork Church and has a passion for people and enjoys ministering the love and saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Prior to Bible school, Mrs. Lawrence had a successful 13-year career with Jamaica Mutual Life Insurance Company (now Guardian Life) where she rose through the ranks to management.
Having re-committed her life to Jesus Christ in 1992, her priorities shifted radically and she made the decision to attend Bible school. After graduating, she received Ministerial Licensing from the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International.
However, she was to utilise her giftings as a teacher and administrator, when, in 2002, she founded the Youth Enhancement Service (also known as the YES Programme), which offered skills training and certification, in partnership with HEART Trust/NTA (now HEART NSTA/Trust).
The Programme served over 2,000 youth during its 12-year existence and received several awards from such entities as: HEART Trust, Tourism Product & Development Company, Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was also the recipient of the coveted Prime Minister’s Organization Service Award.
Mrs Lawrence’s qualifications include: Bachelors in Ministry, Diploma in Theology, post-graduate and advanced certifications in Career Development, Business Administration and Human Resource Management.
Ordained in August 2019 as Assistant Pastor at Teamwork Church, she also serves as a member of the Board of Governors at Teamwork Christian Academy and a Member of the Board of Teamwork Associates and Teamwork Trust.
Married for 39 years, she has 2 married sons and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Her personal motto is: “Attaining Excellence, by Becoming Excellence”.
Special Services Offered
Our purpose is, "that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the full measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12, 13).
Fulfilling the Vision
Teamwork Church embraces and seeks to fulfill the vision for Teamwork Associates through evangelism, the building of relationships with God and interpersonally, the mobilizing of talents and abilities, and the training of persons from diverse backgrounds, in a ministry that has youth and children as a special focus.
There is much emphasis on prayer, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and the principles of the Word of God with the church at each Centre responsible for spiritual covering, leadership and the provision of workers.
Inaugural Family Worship Service
On Sunday, November 28, 2021, Teamwork Church hosted the first family worship service for Teamwork Associates, which brought together workers within all three ministries. This special service involved re-dedication prayers by Pastors Parker and Lawrence. A presentation on our renewed mission was done by Dr. Oban. The Menzie Oban Scholarship was officially launched by Mrs. Jasmin Johnson, and Rev. Orton Deans delivered a timely word for the occasion.
